Is your optical sensor in stock
shibo
no, is preordering an option?
Seve
Consignment? Ideally not for first version, eventually we will cuz mustafa needs it too
Seve
They will
Seve
That is consignment
Seve
Im not convinced you can ship this in a week, maybe we can do it but do you really want to take the mechanical risk and sourcing risk for this one? There is probably something more shippable
shibo
i thought consignment means you buy it for them i'm working on other boards, but i just thought this would be an interesting idea i'm working on the nema8 20x20 board, which is kinda hard but I believe it's doable I'm also trying to make the gamebody advance using a linux chip
Seve
yea that's great
Seve
ok well we will be consigning optical sensors at some point, you and mustafa need to agree on one to use haha
shibo
i'm also trying to make the linux motor controller
Seve
also we should select one that is good
Seve
awesome
shibo
he too is looking for a sensor? i'll chat with him
Seve
he built a wireless mouse but the sensor is out of stock
shibo
linux gameboy: https://tscircuit.com/ShiboSoftwareDev/linux-gameboy-advance#3d 20x20 nema8: https://tscircuit.com/ShiboSoftwareDev/nema8-20mm-usbc-pd-controller#3d I'm fixing some 3d rotation issues for it, and it's also using blind/buried vias which is not desired correct?
Seve
gameboy: make sure the connectors are in the right places, microsd is too far, power is in an unusual place and will get accidentally pressed, J_SPK i'm not sure what it goes to. What is the display for this? Try to populate all 3d models and check for jlc availability. Try to add an i2c and spi jst. You need a uart jst as well (there is a standard for this- see the standard programmer)
Seve
NEMA8, make sure <@809856037376491570> takes a look, if you can get both usbs on the top that will be better for space clearance, better to have the driver and mcu etc. on the bottom then get the connectors on the top
Seve
yes you cannot use blind/buried vias
Seve
it will drive the cost too high
Seve
you can create a TSX file that loads a NEMA8 GLB to test the assembly if you're so inclined, don't worry about that too much because we might make it easier by having modelprinter strings for it
Seve
looking pretty good
Seve
i'll connect a SPI display to the allwinner maybe we can do some kind of performance testing- how much storage do we have by default 🤔
Seve
<@778624824875941908> jlc is on holiday for 2 more days, so you have some time before there's pressure to order
