shibo - @Seve the symbol style inconsistencies ...

mention the symbol style inconsistencies happened partly because we used tscircuit native symbols for most and custom symbols for some, the kicad converter on the other hand uses custom symbols for everything. Now which method should we stick with and enforce?

After that I can do a refactor to whichever convention
Seve
we shouldn't be using custom symbols, but if we do we can't just copy a completely different color scheme etc. we should be introducing symbols as needed if we need a symbol that isn't acceptable on symbols.tscircuit.com we would have to have a altium/circuit-json symbol library for conversion
Seve
having an inconsistent policy is definitely not good
Seve
going full custom symbol might be possible but we can't have inconsistent styling. I would say it would be better to convert to our symbols except where necessary and have a (hopefully small) symbol compat library and way of converting without looking awful
shibo
80 percent of the symbols are native, so I'd rather make the rest of them native too, and I like the idea of a seperate symbol library for altium symbols that aren't acceptable in the main library
Seve
why wouldn't we use this as an opportunity to build our symbol library?
shibo
You mean expand our symbol library?
Seve
yes
Seve
we just have to make sure that nobody is copying symbols directly, we should have matching symbols but we shouldn't rip them
Seve
e.g. ic with led is a type of symbol, we should have that but we don't need altium's design
Seve
i don't think all the symbols should be custom but idc as long as the output looks good
