Seve
make sure the PWR and DATA is clearly marked in silkscreen if possible, also ideally 4 mounting holes
Seve
you should really try to get the driver on the top haha
shibo
i'll try yeah, just wanting to get an initial review
Seve
you can also use an edge-facing JST, might save space not sure
Seve
well the board is 6 layers
Seve
and it has to be 4
Seve
actually it's 8 layers
Seve
idk how you didn't see that tbh lol
Seve
people aren't doing self review haha
shibo
I didn't know we had a 4 layer limit
Seve
upload it to jlc and check the cost
Seve
if the cost is ok maybe we can do 8 layer but it's probably not
shibo
yeah 8 layers is 90 dollars extra off the bat, pre tax and all
Seve
that is a bit high
Seve
i think you might be able to find a usb-c connector that uses less space
Seve
one type of connector that uses a lot less space is a vertically mounted connector, they are less secure though, probably not the right fit for this
Seve
ideally usb-c ports on same side
Seve
how you secure a vertically mounted connector is you make an enclosure that can help hold them. So it is possible to use a vertical usb-c connector for this, the enclosure isn't that hard to design
shibo
i'll make this my last option
