Using agents to generate schematics has been nothing but frustration for me. They don't have spatial awareness at all, treat the components as zero size points, constantly producing overlapping coordinates.

besides being objectively wrong and constantly confusing similarly named pins like VDDP and VDD

being able to edit code manually is the only reason to use tscircuit at all, otherwise, I would just ask agents to produce an SVG from scratch

which would be far easier for AI to do as it wouldn't have to hoop throught tscircuit syntax loops

I think you're basically thowing baby out with water if you remove the playground/editor

why have tsx syntax if it's also be generated, why not ask AI to generate circuitjson directly

More of a projection bc ai has mostly removed the need to edit code for regular software devs

In my experience, vibe coding tools that don't provide the ability to edit code or at the very least export it, are just forcing you to spend more money on tokens. Similarly, here, the manually moving components x/y coordinates is way superior to any number of prompting you're trying to achieve the same result

maybe when we get AGI, we won't need tscicrcuit at all

i just want to emphasize here that we always support the editing of code, just maybe not always inside a full-featured IDE environment in the browser, other companies are working on code editors with AI integration and while we'll always have support for viewing and manipulating code, the way people are using code editors is changing fast and it's hard for us to keep up while building a solid framework

the killer feature of tscircuit for me is plantuml/mermaid like workflow. If it ends up being a local only/desktop tool you have to use git/tsc/etc to use, this isn't viable for most users, IMHO.
