<@1079361271687807026> i'm still seeing these massive net labels
Seve
i want to stress that this is NOT a skill fix
Seve
core should never output this
Mustafa7
So what would be the output instead of that long labels?

Mustafa7
`Name?` labels?
Seve
We should never output labels that long- we need to set a displayName for those labels or something
Seve
I suggested NAME? and a warning before
Mustafa7
Ok
Mustafa7
The `Name?` labels would be eligible for traces but what about `connections` prop?

anytime we do the "A/B/C" construction the displayName should just be "NAME?"
Seve
and i do mean the all caps version 😁
Seve
it's a common-ish engineering thing
astrimid
FWIW, OrCAD generates names like "N000001" if net alias/name isn't assigned.
Seve
that is good to know
astrimid
It actually common thing in board view schematics
astrimid
but very uncommon in actual schematics. I mean PCB traces have those N* names, while schematics don't usually display those labels, as they rarely leave a single schematic page or section.

To apply it here, I guess if you see them, they must be renamed to a human readable name. If you don't see them, it doesn't matter what name it's assigned as long it's not very long in PCB view. Usually, if I see those autogenerated labels in tscircuit, it means I put them into different schematic sections, thus forcing them to display or I need to tweak max distance property or rotate the components or bring them closer.
